Open-air preaching is the standard method God has always employed throughout Scripture to reach the common people. As Charles Spurgeon has said, “Open-air preaching is as old as preaching itself.”

Ray Comfort says, “There is no higher calling than to follow in the footsteps of the Savior and preach in the open air.”

Open-air preaching requires you to stretch out of your comfort zone. But remember that is Biblical. To name a few examples, you have: Noah, Jonah, Jeremiah, Peter, Paul and our Lord Jesus.

Let’s continue with the tips.Screen Shot 2014-07-11 at 6.09.44 PM

Number 3. Once you have a crowd, pick a volunteer. Choose someone that is bold and loud. Then, take him through the so called “good person test.”

Number 4. By taking him through the commandments, he will recognize his sin and his problem in judgment. Now, share with him the good-news. Magnify the gospel. Remember the whole crowd is listening.

Number 5. I offer a price to the volunteer if he proves me that he is a good person. He fails the test. But I give the gift anyway, as an example of God’s grace. We can’t earn it, we don’t deserve it; but He gives grace to us.

I hope this was helpful. Remember to always check your motive—we witness to people because we love them and we care about them. Make sure your motive is shown in your voice.
